my wife and i will be going to fuengirola on march 23
could any residents or visitors recommend any
places to try or visit during our stay?
thanks in advance
patann.
When i stay in fuengirola i tend to hire a car and check out a bit further afield, Mijas is worth the trip a nice village in the hills above fuengirola not too far, i also like istan, and benahavis, both typically spanish. A bit further afield is casares which is said to be spains most photographed village, and ronda which for me is a must see especally the old part. Puerto banus to see how the other half live and benalmadena marina can be pleasant. I also enjoy the drive up the coast to nerja and the traditional village of frigiliana which is very close. I enjoy getting away from the british influence and trying to find typical traditional spanish culture.
If you go off the main front towards the back streets in the Los Boliches area where there are more Spanish Tapas bars - try the olives (if you like them) they are gorgeous!
There is a restaurant called La Roma down a side street just off the main beach road - down where the main cluster of restaurants are. We go there every year and always have a good meal.
I reckon the original poster is probably home by now!
