I presume you mean the Yumbo centre on Playa del Ingles that many refer to as the 'gay centre' there is some information here regarding this centre:-

The Yumbo center is like all the others in Gran Canaria. The top tier has quite a few eating out places. And a few small bars in it. The lower level is the same. But on the lower level here is a great bar(can't remember the name somebody will thought) it does a great drag act and is really funny. behind this there is a row of bars. This area tends to be visited by a lot of men. But we visited the yumbo one night and had a great time there.

You must visit the Yumbo centre, everyone is really welcoming and there is a very easy going atmosphere and some great bars. A great place for `people watching`. There is a big drag act bar in the middle which is hilarious.

I would say that you are looking at somewhere around 15 euros by Taxi. If there are a couple of you it is a bargain. Not sure of what exactly there is in Puerto Rico, but you will find yourself most welcome in PDI. The Yumbo thrives til 3am with some bars going on til 6am on the upper floors there is a lesbian bar there - think its called Jackies bar. Drinks are a little more expensive there because it is a commercial centre, so make sure you try the Queen Vic, British Bulldog, Rangy and the Oul Triangle nearby. All are gay friendly.

Hmm, i really think you ought to drag your friends out.. mind you... if you went alone, you would soon meet friends....

you find lesbian women everywhere, in clubs..... i know i've seen loads, not just in the yumbo......
All the other clubs as well, Gran Canaria is one of the most lesbian-gay friendly areas i've ever seen :) go for it.. and ENJOY youself! 8)

hello i went to the yumbo centre last year and it was great(it was soo funny i nearly wet my pants).

I would say the drag was the best they also have a sky jumper.

If you are addicted to red bulls take your own because red bulls in one place were £5.00 each!!!

if you need any questions answering on the yumbo centre please ask me, dont be afraid....

the only thing is if you have very young kids , at night you may see some gays kissing etc:(really bad)so just watch out.

After all the shows have finished you can get your picture took with them. They are very friendly.

You can do karaoke and maybe if you are in a pub early you may play some quiz or trivia games and sometimes you can win prizes at the end.

There are some shops that sell stuff(for cheap) and places were they braid your hair.Try to barter with them because it does work.

All the shows only come on kinda late about 11.00-11.30 as they did when i was there. You will not be able to go to the toilet in the middle of the show because they get changed in there but there are toilets outside the pub.

Taxis to there are very cheap and if you visit the yumbo at night it is most likely to be lit up and it looks fantastic.

There is a play area for the little ones and the floor is in sand.It is only little but it is good for keeping them busy. There is a bulldog ride and i think it is like 50p £1-00 ago.But it is really funny.

When you are returning home off your holiday and you get family presents the best place to go is the yumbo centre. There is this little shop and it sells:wines, ciggs toys and lots more.Plus they dont break easily.

I would reccomend you to visit at night as there is more attractions. But if you want you can go in daytime though it is just as busy in daytime as night time.

Overall the yumbo is a good day out and is worth every little penny.I would certainly go back there if i go back to gran canaria but i am goin lanzarote.

It is definatley 10/10 for me.

If i have not covered a question that you wanted to ask please just post a reply.

lots of love..xxcallyxx..
