Hi Everyone,
My Husband and I (early 30's with no kids) are thinkig of going to Crete this year having visited many other Greek Islands in previous years.
I always try and do as much research as possible on the resort we go to but I just cannot decide which one woruld be best for us.
We love a good beach, a rnage of tavernas and a few bars. We like a bit of something going on but nothing too busy.
We loved Skala (Kefalonia), Arrillas and San Stefanos (Corfu) and Pefkos (Rhodes) just to give you some idea of the type of resort we like!
I do hope someone can give some adivce. Is Georgioupolis really busy now?
Many Thanks,
Gymmie

Kalives is certainly the best option from the 3 you mention. I usually stay west of Chania but it depends what you are looking for. I was in Kalives briefly last week but was happy to get back to the other side of Chania where the wide sandy beaches go on forever, the sky seems bigger and the quality of bars, restaurants and clubs is that much higher. You won't find many British people there but, in a way, that adds to the appeal for just a week or 2 a year. It's also a bit closer to the legendary beaches of Falasarna and Elefonisi and the lagoon at Balos. Finally, it's where the rich Athenians go and they know a thing or two about Greek islands! You certainly won't find them in Georgioupoli, Almirida or Kalives.
Hope this helps.
