little car hire firm in cala llonga just down from the sa tanca appartments who did me a good deal when i was staying there ..think there is also a beta car near cleopatra's....futher up the hill is a taxi rank about 14euros to ibiza town.......also water taxi goes from es cana -santa eulalia-cala llonga-ibiza town

i'd recommend car hire. public transport only gets you to the places everyone else goes to.

Depends on what you mean by, "seeing different places", Carl. If you want to go to other resorts to spend the day, perhaps eating and drinking there, you can get to many of the popular resorts on public transport without having to worry about drinking / driving.

However, as sdII says, if you want to get around to several different places, and off the beaten track, then a car is a must. There are some lovely places to visit by car and I would put Benirras and Cala Vadella at the top of the list.

true car hire is best.but stay off the beer.you could use the buses from ibizatown which take you everywhere.but its the hassle of getting the times right.and in a car you get really get to places a bus cannot .like right up to the resorts beach.plus you can load your car with goodies.no need to carry them on bus.for which depends where you go.can get really packed at peak or even off peak times.....car all the way
