Hi sarah.
Catholics can get their UK priest to refer and transfer them to here no problem, a bit of paper work and a journey to Valencia I think, but not too difficult... CofE couples have to settle for a blessing, which I can arrange but it would be nice if the whole thing was done here, seems a bit unfair....
I read in the paper today about the first gay marriage between a spanish guy and a non spanish. Also, in the afternoon I heared something on the radio about someone who arranges marriages in different places, for example aboard submarines, in aircraft etc. I didn't pay much attention butthey do the services for foreigners aswell as Spanish.
what about a trip to nearby Gibralter? we live in Lanzarote and got married there and had our honeymoon touring (some of ) Spain.
gibraltar too far and does rather defeat the object, but the submarine man might be on to something! thanks everyone , keep it coming, I have a wedding here tomorrow, they had their paper work done in the uk and he grooms father is conducting a full ceremony here, they have built an altar and made a cross out of olive branches, its beautiful, big bbq and party afterwards.. so spent all day clearing the decks and sweeping, wiping down furniture, making Parking signs etc etc.. will let you know how it goes!!
we had same problem last year we are already married but just wanted to renew vows for 25th anniversary, but we were recommended to see the british emmbassy or go to gibralta, ask local people, there are some people out there who will marry you ,lot of fussing thou, but i think it would be worth it,you only get married once....dont you.
