Hi Kedi,
Thanks for trying to solve my questions, It would be brilliant if you could find any info out regarding wittnesses.
A party afterwards sounds like the sort of thing we would like (on the beach even better).
Will have to have a chat with the wedding planner to see what she can arrange.
Thanks again
Sam
If you take a look on the First Choice Weddings website there is a link to the legal requirements for marriage abroad , and you will see that for Turkey the witnesses must not be related to the bride or groom .
Hope this helps

When i got married(turkish husband im english) . my brother was suppossed to be my witness and ny husbands friend his they told me i could not have my brother so we just swapped them, my brother was mustafas witness and his friend was mine and that was no problem. We got married in icmeler had to do all paperwork in izmir but didnt take long and had rests of day to look around izmir. The journey to the consualte took about 3 and half hours. we went early in the morning and was there for when consulate opened, take someone with you who speaks turkish as you have to get signatures from izmir goveners and police offices. There are people such as proffessional translaters and even wedding co ordinators who you can hire to help you with this.
We had blood tests done here in marmaris at ahu hetman took 10 minutes and results ready in 1hr cost us 50 ytl cant remeber if that was each or not.
hope this helps
I have asked a few people who got married in Turkey and they have all said you can't have relations as witnesses, although as someone on here said they did have a relative, it is probably a case, as with many things in Turkey, that there are rules but they don't always follow... Anyway you could have your partners brother as best man and have another witness on standby in case they don't allow him to sign the book. As I said before, make sure whoever you have has their passport with them or they wont be allowed to be a witness.
We arranged our own party, my husband and his friends were working at bar on the beach so they just got in food and wine, everything else was already there.
Hope all goes well for you x

My daughter had her friend as a witness last October as we were told no relatives. Son in law had his brother as bestman but his boss as witness. He's Turkish she's English. He had to have a blood test she didn't!!
Hi all a family member is thinking of getting married at lykia world september 09.He has had a price for 16 adults staying at lykia world on full board + for £13,000 pounds thats with wedding package. But if he wants the extras like pictures ,video, manicure and hairdressers it will be a extra £350 pounds i think that price is for bride only for the manicure and hairdressers.. Id love to know if you all think thats a good price as none of the family have been to turkey before any feedback would be just great cheers all mazza
i got married at lykia and booked an outside photographer, used lykias hairdressers. to be honest that doesnt sound too bad as im sure if you booked a photographer here in the uk it would be more than that without the hairdressers etc. i did my own wedding package but i dont think lykia allows that now, but all my guests got excellent discounts on the rooms direct through lykias uk dept. is this through fc as im sure they are the only ones that do wedding packages to lykia, the other option would be to stay at lykia and organise the wedding yourself in the lagoon, this might be cheaper. they might partition off some of the restaurant which they did for me and if all guests are staying at lykia we only needed to pay for the wedding cake which was about £35 and the supplements for the specialist restaurant we choose and that was about £3 each
That price was from thomas cook i might try first choice and see how much they are .Was everything ok at your wedding and everything you requested done for you .Thanks ever so much for the info its a great help cheers mazza
yes everything i asked was done, although they were very laid back and left things to last minute which worried me. we got married on the platform that goes from beach into sea infront of adult only pool, they decorated this for me and i decided to have the meal in the chinese restaurant they covered all chairs and tables in white cloths and partitioned the area of the restaurant i choose, they even changed their daily menu as i preferred the day befores menu so the changed days over for me. i took lots of table decs, balloons, table confetti etc with me and left it with them to put on the tables which they did fine, anything else i can help with let me know
karen
Might sound like a silly question but why do you have to have blood tests in the first place

No idea - I asked that when we got married and I never did get a proper answer
i asked that and was told to check for diseases , matching recessive genes and any family connections etc , in a way i think its a good thing at least if you did have any matching recessive genes you would know before having kids
Yes, I think it something like that, wouldn't have done us any good though as I was 7 months pregnant when we got married
I got married at lykia also and I used the first choice package which was about £350 which included all the paper work, the super wedding co-ordinator, the cake, the registrar chap, button holes etc etc. I used the first choice hair dresser and make up woman who was o.k, I had my reception at the beckeliz beach which was absolutely fantastic and cheaper then having it at lykia (and they were incredibly strict on guests not staying there and said they would have to be out at a certain time or else!) and I used the first choice photographer chap who was also very good. Over all I was very happy with the service I recieved, although I would recommended having reception elsewhere if you have guests staying elsewhere.
We are getting married at The Holiday Village in Sarigerme and fly out on the 25th August but luckly all of our guests so far have managed to get booked into the same hotel all 31 of them.
Im just hoping that the wedding co-ordinator will be able to arrange somewhere for us to celebrate afterwards.
If anyone has had there wedding at the same place it would be grate to hear your views and experiences.
(i am also looking at cyprus and zante,)
at the minute im thinking there would just be my partner and 16 yr old son at the wedding, as it is both our 2nd marriage and we want a quiet affair, but a lot of wedding planners quotes are for larger number of people,
if there are any wedding planners out there could they give me a quote for all legal fees included for wedding, a 1 tier cake, bridal flowers. could you tell me how far the british consulate is from kalkan and olu deniz?
we would like a nice 2 bedroom apartment or a hotel with interconnecting rooms any ideas ?????????
we really are on a tight budget, we would be going for 2 weeks,
thanks for any help given
Hi , i would definitely recommend Hayal who is a member on here . She can be contacted through her website
We are hoping to get married next year.. where do I start?? It will be just me, my fiance and my son ( who is almost 5 months) We would love a wedding on the beach, flowers.. all the usual!
Could anyone please tell me who they booked with.. where they went? and how much roughly they paid for the accommodation and the wedding.
It's soo different to booked a holiday.. I have looked on websites for a rough quote but don't seem to be getting anywhere!
