Was up in Glasgow central to pick up my train tickets and currency, whats the first thing I see when I step of my bus, big queues for the trains, with announcement reservations have been suspended, there was alos alot of police around, and the queues were going out of the staion
Some passengers, were put on to coaches to take them to where ever there going
And all of this because of the heavy rain we have been having, eache railline from scot has been affected, east coast, and the west coast, and on the west coast, there trying to clear a landslide
We had contemplated leaving yesterday lunchtime after school closed (we're in South Lanarkshire) to drive south to catch a ferry at Portsmouth at 7.45 this morning. Having seen the reports I'm glad we decided not to as I'm not sure we would have made it. Our next idea was to get the train to Manchester Airport but the timings coming back didn't work. I'm so glad we are flying from Glasgow tonight (although everything seems to be leaving late) as neither of the first two plans would have worked.
