Hamilton has 2 stations - Hamilton Central and Hamilton West - and you would get a train from/through Glasgow Central depending on where you are staying in Glasgow. Hamilton West is probably a 10 minute walk from the racecourse.

train from glasgow low level to hamilton approx every 1/2 hr get off at hamilton west next to football stadium. Turn left after station and walk past the firestation and supermarket takes approx 10 -15 mins
