We are visiting Kissimmee next July and one of our party has coeliac, I have been searching everywhere for links to restaurants that do for gluten free but with only limited sucess. There must be hundreds of people in our situation though!
The only advice I keep getting is to book in the restaurants at Disney in advance but we don't want to continually be having to eat in expensive restaurants - any advice would be appreciated!
I've heard Universal is tricky as well.
Also I believe we can take gluten free bread into USA but would need a doctors note (fait enough) and to declare it - stupid queastion but how do you declare it at customs?
As far as purchasing gluten free products in the Kissimmee area- you can buy breads/cookies/pasta at Chamberlin's Natural Foods, 1114, N John Young Pkway, Kissimmee 34741 ph: 407-846-7454
- they are located close to the main road through Kissimmee (the 192)
Restaurants that have Gluten Free menus:
Outback Steakhouse.
PFChang
Carrabba's grill
Olive Gardens
Bonefish Grill
McDonalds.... french fries anyway, not sure about other items
You should be able to find one of these restaurants fairly close to where you are staying- they are all chains and are found in Kissimmee and Orlando.
SuperWalmarts also state that they stock Gluten free products but I don't know what they have.
Big thumbs up for Chamberlins.
