The weather at the moment is hot and sunny 31c in the shade, though it rained for hours on Monday. It seems to rain through the night more than during the day. All you will need are umbrellas and the rubber 'slippers' that the locals wear, it's too hot for raincoats and because there are puddles everywhere, anything other than rubber flip flops get ruined (leather goes mouldy)
As Lin said, most restaurants in Calangute are open, but most of the tourist shops are closed.
Taxi's can be hard to find, especially in the evening, hard to believe I know
The roads are very quiet too.
We have really enjoyed being here in the monsoon, no hassle, no sellers.
Definiatly would recommend coming here during the off season.

Hi Charlotte,
We are in Arpora, if you are coming before the season starts or anytime apart from Christmas/New Year you will have no problem finding accomodation. Look at the hotel review section for addresses.
Most of the bars are open, though of course no beach shacks for a few weeks yet. No idea about parties-sorry.

:) Is that the same Ram that used to work in the Fisherman's Cove on the Beach Road in Candolim?
Reply
yes the same Ram !! he has his own restaurant now opened last October and its great . Towpal yes I can tell you loads of places for your furniture, no problem, i will pm you tomorrow, and you are definitely doing the right thing going out to buy in Sept as all the prices increase in November when the season starts, we noticed that last year
