I've started making enquiries about our return to Goa next December.
Lufthansa do a schedule flight from Heathrow to Goa, via Colombo.
Has anyone tried this route?
Would it be worth our time doing a 3/4 day stop-over in Colombo?
I would like to know where you found that ? , as here in germany the airline that flys to Sri-Lanka and Goa is Condor, I havent heard of Lufthansa doing these routes
I would post asking about Colombo in the Indian Ocean forum. We have several members who could help there. Stopovers are great to get a feel of the place.
I would like to know where you found that ?
I got it from "Travelpack" who sell flights only.
Heathrow - Colombo - Goa.
Air Lanka do the same route - Goa / Colombo / Heathrow, they have some really good deals on over here at the moment - return ticket approx Rs19800
GFF xx
OOOOPS!!!, got that wrong it's actually around Rs30000 to Heathrow!!! The Rs19800 is to Bangkok via Colombo
Sri Lankan started flying Columbo - Dabolim at the end of October.
Mon and Sat, 5.45 am leaves Columbo.
Returns from Goa 8.30am.
They had some really cheap promotional deals (Heathrow-Columbo-Dabolim) at the beginning of the season, but unfortunately wouldn't let you take a stop off in Sri Lanka so we passed.
If we could have spent a few nights in Sri Lanka it would have been great, but with the hassle and times it was still easier just to get a direct charter.
(England are playing cricket in Sri Lanka next November/December max13biker, if you're interested in a dual centre holiday...)
