tow of the must's in my opinion are the village of Zia it has many good taverna's and gifty type shops and if you go late proberbly the best sunset on the island the other is the Asclepitum not far foem Kos town the ruins where Hippocrates founded the first proper hospital in the world
Thanks wizard
Ayhone else any recommendatios please?
I agree with Wizard. Zia is a beautiful little village and we had a wonserful meal when we were there. Kos town has a magnificent tree under which Hippocrates was supposed to have sat and studied. Kos is very flat and has excellent cycling tracks a great way to get around the island. We also went to visit some healing springs but for the life of me I can't remember where. (perhaps someone else can help)They are actually in the sea and are so hot it takes a while to get used to. The harbour in Kos Town is beautiful when lit up at night. A word of warning though the restaurnts here are very expensive. If you just go back a street you can eat just as well but for a lot less.
Thank ou Helen for your reply We do in fact always go furthur back from the waterfront to east because as you say it works out far cheaper - kindest regard anbron
I think the healing springs were in Therme. I was there last year and visited them. They are a few miles outside of the town.
