Hi all
I'm mildly panicking about our holiday to Playa Blanca in a couple of weeks, we're taking our 5 month old baby with us. Staying at the First Choice Holiday Village which has good reviews so thats great
I've never taken a baby abroad so young before, and the added headache is that she is bottle fed (my other 2 children were breast fed but she wouldn't do it!!) so I have all the hassle of making up bottles, taking milk, making sure she has extra drinks of water etc etc. Pain in the bum but hey ho....
Can anyone tell me if SMA is readily available in shops over there? And what is the water like to drink, my health visitor tells me that it should be ok for her to have the tap water as it will have to be boiled first but I am dubious about this, we don't want any upset tummies..... can I give her bottled water and if so, what kind?
Any other snippets of advice about travelling with babies will be greatefully received - I AM really looking forward to going, as long as I know every eventuality is covered before we go. (Is that ever even possible with a baby??!)
Many thanks
Tracy
I have looked in the past for SMA milk here in Lanzarote, and had no luck so far. Nestles and Aptamil (sp) are the most poplular here. They can be bought in most pharmacies too. With regards to the water, I wouldn't use the tap water for a baby. A lot of it is held in holding tanks, and it is desalinated. There is a bottled water called Lanjaron which has a low sodium content and is suitable for babys feeds. I'm sure there are others, but that's the one I have used.

Am I right in thinking you live in Lanzarote? We've never been and are so looking forward to going, only 9 days to wait !! Any tips for what not to miss??
Just found the post with the live webcam and I've been watching it this morning for a while wishing we were there now, its raining here in old blighty, surprise surprise
I do live in Lanzarote, yes You would perhaps need to start another thread to ask about what not to miss, or search through the info already on here, otherwise it'll take this thread
As Sue says, there's lots of advice on excursions so have a search
Thanks Sue for the tip with nappies, they are so bulky! We've hired all our equipment via First Choice so we don't need to take buggy's and cots etc, but even without all that stuff there's alot to think about.
Lanzarote here we come!!
That's ok! Just wanted you to know you'll find loads of ideas for family days outTracyjaybee wrote:OK I will have a look.... sorry
