Hi,
We hopefully will be in goa from end of December until January 21st. During that time we want to do the golden triangle trip. We are in calangute, does firstly anyone know who we can book with, or should we book with someone before we go. secondly how much it would cost?
Many thanks
We did the trip twice, both times with Daytripper who are based in clang ute, we found them very reliable and half the cost of trips from the big package companies. One thing to bear in mind however, is that in January you can get days of freezing fog in Delhi and Agra. It disrupts air and rail travel, and on our first visit to the tajj it was shrouded in fog and running with water and very very very cold. The nmonkeys at the nearby fort were huddled together, shivering. Don't know what the cost is now but Daytripper has a website if you google it.

I echo Gramp's comments about the Delhi climate in January. It can be very cold and if you get fog too, your flight is diverted or cancelled and your whole schedule is up the creek. Don't want that to sound negative - you may be lucky but it's something to be aware of and check what the arrangements are if cancellation/diversion happens.
We also went with Daytripper. The only problem was the escorts they arranged persistently tried to take us places we didn't want to go. Obviously they were on backhanders from business owners. One guy in Jaipur knew what we said we liked in a shop in Agra - they are all linked up.
I complained to Eddie in Daytripper who got back to me and said the main guy had been sacked! That made me feel great! It was a shame but again, get reassurances that the guides will respond to what you want and not they want.
It's a great trip but quite demanding - early rises and lots of travelling.

If you are happy to arrange your own flights then try
http://www.namasteindiatours.com/
You will get your own driver/guide, They will give the itinery but you can change anything you are not happy with. A fraction of the cost of major tour ops.

I organised all our flights from goa and back again from Delhi and the Jaipur flight, and our train from Delhi to Agra (for the Taj Mahal) from the UK.
We used "Mumbai Magic" for our car transport and our guides, and they were very good and I recommend them. I also booked our hotels in each place from here too. this all turned out much cheaper than using the likes of "daytrippers". The guides we used were for us only, it was great. if you need further info, just ask.
