Yes we've booked though agents in the past. Its the only way to get good prices. Most course's are very good on the Agarve. Do you want to be west or east or around Vilamoura? I'll see If I can find the agent we used and let your know. Also if you're going to play several rounds its better to purchase a package.

Yes we wish to play in the villamoura area.

Have heard good things about the Old course and victoria. Also wish to play the Quinta da Cima ( East coast). Although the cheapest packege we have found works out to be £55 for each course. Is this reasonable?

We can't afford to much more, but as we are all good golfers wish to play the best....not just the most expensive!! :-) so any recommendations will be good.

without doubt the best and the best value for money courses are quinta da cima and quinta da ria in Tavira

Victoria is one of the most expensive courses at 150 euros a round. By going through an agent you may get it down to 100 euros, but any package including Victoria is going to be expensive.

From memory we paid around £99 each January 2005 to play Morgado, Laguna and Millenium, which I thought was reasonable.
The old course is supposed to be excellent, and I can recommend Millenium and Morgado. Laguna was ok, but not quite as good as the others. Mind you it was still gr8.

As Mad Mick has already said, there are a lot of agents in the Algarve that may all be able to get you the best price, which is exactly what they will all say.
Some will show a low green fee but then charge you for credit card usage and booking fees...

This site not only can get you some of the best rates around, but will allow you to search for and book at over 25 courses all over Portugal!!
From what I have seen, it searches accordin to what you want, as opposed to the agents who give you what they have to sell or what they want to give you.
This way, we are the ones that get to make our own gof schedule. I have used them loads of times... No issues so far.
The only thing is that you might find that some of the courses you may want to play may not be hooked up... Just call Daryl on +351289351299 and he will sort it out.
