Hi there I am an avid reader and have really enjoyed the following books- Forget you had a daughter- which is about Sandra Gregory who was arrested for drug smuggling and spent years in a Bangkok hellhole prison
Also - The Damage done - by Warren Fellows - similar tale - both very interesting real life and gritty.
I have just bought The Angel of bang kwang prison - by Susan Aldous - a woman who went to thailand to do 9 days charity work and is still there many years later, looks a fascinating book.
Anybody read any other good books set in Thailand?
you know I am ashamed to say that I can't think I have?
Read a few books on the prison camps on the River Kwai recently Surviving the Sword - Prisoners of the Japanese 1942-45 by Brian MacArthur. Covers quite a few countries, not just Thailand. In parts quite harrowing.
Fiction wise there's always The Beach.

funnily enough my husband is reading Surviving the Sword right now. I am stealing myself to read it after him. I found the Jeath War museum quite harrowing and almost fainted at Changi Museum
so not sure if I will cope with it. He thinks it is a fascinating read though.
Forgot about The Beach!
