hi there - my hubby and I are off to Los Cristianos next week - can anyone suggest good eating places and bars here? Also what about PDLA?Has been about 7 years since we were last there so i'm imagining its changed a lot?thanks weemo
Another question - does anyone know any good Chinese restaurants in Los Cristianos - its just we had the best chinese meal ever when we were there the last time but neither of us can remember where it was!!!All we know is the taxi dropped us off and it was nearby - very vague details - sorry!!
Direction are from our complex.
LOS CRISTIANOS
1.EL BRASERO - Go out the top gate and cross the zebra crossing. It is across the road from Margui's restaurant. Closed Tuesdays. 10/10 Carlos, the owner from Portugal will keep you entertained while you dine as they always seem to fall out with each other.Check the specials board outside.
2.TIFFANYS BAR/RESTAURANT - Across the road from El Brasero. Owned and run by a Kirkcaldy couple,Mike and Senga. Excellent breakfasts and meals throughout the day with games and quizzes for all the family from around 9.00pm. 10/10
3.CLANSMAN BAR - 100 yards past Tiffany's turn right. It's the 1st bar on this strip of bars. Small newly opened friendly bar owned by Dave & Marlyn from Kilmarnock. Not the biggest of bars but owners always good for a wee blether.
4.OYSTER CATCHER- Turn right as you come out the complex and 100 yards up the hill. Snacks and meals all day long as well as entertainment at night
5. TAYLORS LOUNGE BAR. Busiest bar in Los Cristianos. Bar type meals done all day with a friendly relaxing feeling at night.
6. L'OPERA- Italian coffee shop next to Oyster Catcher.Excellent milkshakes/hot chocolate, lattes and cakes served with cream and puree.Newspapers and magazines make it very relaxing 10/10
7.INDIAN RESTAURANT- Next to L'Opera. Busy place, good sized portions.Chicken tikka is delicious.Fast service.Waitress Nikki is from Newmilns in Ayrshire. 10/10 if you Like Indian meals
8.GOLDEN CITY CHINESE - New restaurant. Very good buffet for 7 Euros. 9/10
9.BAR 39- Go past the Golden city Chinese and turn right .Its just up the hill.Breakfast and food all day till late at night.Music bar and Karaoke with guest artists at night. Drifters and Buddy Holly are particularly good.Good atmosphere.Children very welcome9/10

11.ROSE'S CANTINA - Mexican Restaurant - Walk up the hill and turn right, go past Summer Days Summer Nights. Walk for 100 yards and turn right and then a further 100 yards on your left. Strawberry and Banana Margaritas are delicious! 10/10
12.CHURCH RESTAURANT - Turn left round corner at the bottom of the hill and walk 100 yards.Bargain 3 courses for 5.50 though portions were a bit small. Good meal and entertainment at night. 7/10
13.EMPEROR CHINESE - Walk down the hill to the sea and turn right, it is about 300 yards on the right hand side. Best Chinese on the island 10/10
14.LITTLE ITALY - on the Beach front, 30 yards before Burger King. 9/10
15.FORTUNA - Biggest portions in Tenerife. All types of steaks are huge and delicious. Turn right at Burger King, look for the steps and turn right at the top of them. 9/10
16.BLUEBELL BAR - Just around the corner from the Emperor Chinese is the Bluebell Bar, a Scottish Bar. Good nights in there from 9pm onwards especially on a Wednesday Night when they have the Hogmanay Show. Bay City Rollers and Auld Lang Syne at midnight. Superb. Gordon the entertainer, brilliant at Paper Roses!! and Penny Arcade.
17.IRISH TIMES - Situated 30 yards down from the Emperor (upstairs). Two great singers at night. Opens at 8pm and you will be lucky to get a seat after 9pm.
18.SUNDAY MARKET - at the bottom of the hill, very busy and very hot. Keep your bag close to you as pickpockets will be there. Starts at 9am and goes on until 2pm. Be early to miss the crowds.
19.SUPERMARKET - The best one is across the road from the Arona Gran Hotel. Get stocked up on your holiday essentials as soon as you arrive and they will do a free delivery if it's over €40 (which it will be). Saves carrying water and beer up the stairs.
20. SPAR SHOP- In the shoping centre accross the road rom Bar 39.New and very clean everything youll ever need convenience store
LAS AMERICAS
1.MAMA ROSAS - Taxi costs €5. 5 star Italian restaurant. A bit more expensive but a great 5 star meal for a special occasion. 10/10
2.SHENANIGANS - Close to Mama Rosas. The 2 singers start at 10.30. Very witty with all your classic songs. (Singer's night off is a Tuesday).
3.DUBLINER - Next door to Shenanigans with your usual Irish songs.
4.TONY ROMAS - Newly opened American Style Diner. Only a short walk from the Dubliner Bar. Excellent place for a great meal. Avoid between 8.00pm and 9.00pm as you will wait in a queue for your meal. 10/10
5.STRIP OF BARS - Get a taxi to Volcano Hotel (€5). The bars are down the lane on the left hand side as you look at the front of the hotel. There are around 8 bars all in one strip with the Corner Bar, Highlander, Soul Suite, Hole in the Wall etc. All have entertainment so move along to the one that suits you best.
Hi ynttk excellent information you've posted will be staying at victoria court at Xmas plenty of bars and restaurants to keep us entertained will try them all
Missing out this Xmas and going to Jamaica next summer so only a break in Nov and Jan and May to look forward to in Victoria Court.
Really good report you've given, and I'd agree with them all. Well except the Clansman as we have'nt seen it, is it fairly new. Think I know where it is, on the corner of cc Funchal, with the treasure chinese on one side and it's on the strip of bars that used to have Sandy's and the buccaneer. Is that right? We're back over at Victoria Court 2 next month, and as we come from Kilmarnock we'll be sure to look in and have a drink.
wow!! thank you so much for that info - couldnt ask for better!!! really looking forward to next week to get some sunshine and try out these places - we've plenty to chose from now thanks to you!
Try some "Killie pies" in the Clansman which is 3 doors along from Sandys
Check out my website if you are looking to book up in future

The Olive Garden in Los Christianos is fantastic. Ran by a friendly english couple and serves internation cuisine. Quality food in an intimate environment. Its just by the harbour . If you face the harbour and walk away from PDLA towards cardac hill, its on that road. In line with the princessa dacil hotel
