Just wondering where other people go when needing to spend a penny, when out & about (gentlemen careful with your answers). When I say just wodering, that was when we were in Goa the other week.
We enjoy walking a lot & I usualy nip into a hotel that I recognise ie Highland Beach, Nizmar etc. However, when in Panjim or Mapusa etc haven't got a clue where to go.
Is it ok, to just walk in restaurants, bars etc? Also, if just walking on the beach is it OK to use one that belongs to a beach shack, without having to buy anything (don't want this to sound mean).
Hope this thread doesn't offend anyone, but thought I'd ask as were returning in March, so want to be prepared.
AJ
Mapusa has public toilets at the bus station, not as good as the sea though.
There are some public toilets in Panjim for men only, near to one of the parks - these absolutly stink but when you have to go.....
there was a thread on this forum about a year ago 'good toilet guide' or something like that with loads of hints & tips & places for a decent loo in & around calangute/candolim. do a search & im sure you'll find it or maybe fiona mod can do a link for you. im not too sure on panjim or mapusa though, im sure most hotels wouldnt object its only seems to be here in the uk that bars & places get a bit sniffy about non patrons using their facilities.
( good loo info is always very important info for us girls!!!!! )
At millyms request I have found the Good Toilet Guide and merged this topic to it
thanks fiona
Thanks, everyone much appreciated, gunna write them all down (you never know).
I love the name of this thread GOOD TOILET GUIDE, it really made me laugh. Some very interesting reading as well of course .....
some things are really important and knowing where the good toilets are is vital
A lot of the beach shacks have dreadful toilets but most of the restaurants and eating places are of a much higher standard (well in a Goan kind of way)
Paul.... Hotxbun... will be able to let you all know of a good toilet ..its the one in ma..thai where the meet ups are it is spotless nice clean towels.. pump hand soap.. air freshener.. bleach and toilet duck ...and mossie stuff ...he must have noticed it all when I locked him in there onced again im sorry paul
Men dont pay any attention because all they have to do is unzip and point, the ladies have to hover and keep their clothes of the floor if dirty and wet. Believe me the toilets in Goa nowadays are a lot better than 10 years ago. then every other one was one with a hole in the ground.. Try being ladylike when using one of those!!
Going back to the early '90s the shacks on the beach had no toilets whatsoever ~ it was either the sea or the shrubs !!! Brings back memories
hole in the ground ..... NOT funny when you are wearing an all in one jumpsuit (alright it WAS in the 80's!!)
Molly Malones have nice clean toliets, very fragrant.
After Seven has just renovated the toilets - they are incredible now. Tastefully done and very clean at all times. And loads of attention to detail, there's a bench in the Ladies, with mags - Cosmo (no less!) and two of everything! Two cubicles, two washbasins, two bins... at last someone who does not think that ladies are a minority!
After 7 has always had nice toilets, even before the renovation (when it was After 8 also). Unfortunately, this is the minority in Goa. As the previous person said, also nice toilets at Molly Malones as well.
Agree - after 7 fab toilets, also Bono's shack and Delhi Darbar.
I still wouldn't mind giving one of them pig toilets a bash - a happy half hour with the Navhind times, and a pig to talk to....
