Hi Arona 1
I think that's the point though, EVERYWHERE on the Island was previously showing up to date until recently, when all of a sudden certain apartment complexes, cafe bars etc.etc. mysteriously disappeared.
The fact that makum's satellite dish on the roof of his house is still showing on there, suggests that the "authorities" ARE tampering with the pictures,to completely block out those pictures of constructions that they don't want us to see.
Regards Fiona. :)
Only a couple of examples...The Dinastia complex at LC, the Cafe at Parque Santiago and the extended part of Americas Plaza at PDLA (where monkey bar is) have NOW completely disappeared... they were there a few weeks ago.

"skullbuggery".. (You know something that the rest of us don't?? )

Hi Fiona

Piont taken, but IMO, there are only a few complex's missing from the latest photos, expansion in LC & LA is not that great, i just dont see the piont in a "cover up" Expansion is a part of life everywhere,

Hi Arona1
Totally agree, makes you wonder what it is really all about. Don't understand that myself... (The news about the terror threats at our airports in the U.K. this morning somehow detracts from the importance of it.... if :?: it is purely to "cover up" the expansion on the Island :?: )

Hi Fiona

oops I did it again

I meant to say "SkullDugery". Another typo. Sorry.

However i notice that the HT automated BB didn't auto change it to something more pleasant like trump. So although we cant post the word bugger on its own, skullbuggery passes 'Bob the automated language cop'?

Strange :?

Back on topic:
Do "authorities" have to give google permission to publish their images?

Is North Korea on google earth. that would surely tell us.

And more of that 'skull' thing too, Makum..... Llano del Camello (north of Las Chafiras) is only showing the first phase being dug out! It has had residents for a few years now. Miffed that we don't exist and I can't see our balcony! Can't show off my 'whiter than white' wash.... low level of course!!!

Makum North Korea is on Google Earth and I do believe they did make some sort of protest about it but I think it fell on deaf ears as Google Earth also shows various parts of america, Russia and other parts of the western world that may be deemed as sensitive.

As you know the filter has to be taught which words are allowed and which are not. But as you have drawn attention to it the word may be added to the filter. :)

So If North Korea cant stop GE putting Pics of their nation on, how can the Mayor of Arona manage it? All seems a little fantastic. However I there are anomalies such as Dynaster complex not showing etc when it did a while ago very strange.

Good news on the word filter thingy, I must have Keyboard Tourettes!

I have the same problem with Palm Mar.
In June 2006 you got this picture, but now when you look at the same spot you get this picture on which you don't see most of the buildings anymore.

On the pictures you can see that different image-databases are being used, the first picture is from DigitalGlobe and the second one is from GRAFCAN.
DigitalGlobe is the premier provider of imagery in Google's database, providing a majority of the high-resolution imagery served from its database.
GRAFCAN however is a provider of Canary images ( http://www.grafcan.com ).
Google Earth is using the (older) images of GRAFCAN, so, if you want the recent images back you must try to get the images of DigitalGlobe back...
