We've booked two weeks at the Golden Bay Apartments, Gournes (also shown a bit misleadingly as being in Gouves) as the accommodation had plenty of positive reviews and the price was ok. We aren't looking for nightclubs or such, however having done some further research it does sound as though Gournes is a particularly small and "quiet" resort. Any tips on things to do or how to get around would be gratefully received please!

It would be helpful to know how viable it is to use the local buses - I gather the bus stop may be quite a distance from the Golden Bay Apartments. Do the buses run late in the evening and is it easy to get to some places of interest? Should we should be hiring a car for part of the holiday, and if so what's the cheapest way to do this - advance Internet booking, local supplier (possibly in a larger resort), through the hotel or whatever?
