Hi.. I'm looking for info on the Gran Villaitana (formerly Westin Real De Faula) Thinking of booking for a short 4 night stay next month.
I know where it is-thats no problem we will have a car anyway. I've looked at their website and it looks amazing! I love beautiful hotels and am tempted but it is quite pricey- Is it worth the money?
I am also looking at The Melia Benidorm which is obviously not in the same league but so much cheaper! What do you think?
Cant really say about the Westin but we had a family member drop dead unexpectedly back home while my mum-in-law was staying at the Melia, I had to break the news to her and the staff /management at the Melia were 100% fantastic and totally professional, a doctor on hand within minutes and a genuine concern for their guest that to be honest really shocked/surprised me.
They were 5star.
We've used their various brands throughout Spain nine times since with differing results but at the Melia in Benidorm when we needed a little help, they delivered Big Time.
Smiler.
Sorry but that doesn't really answer your question.

Hi thanks for replying. I am sorry to hear of your loss, but glad to hear the staff were so good. We've also stayed at many Sol/Melia hotels over the years with varying experiences. We havent stayed in Benidorm before, instead we've always stayed outside (Denia/Albir) and gone in and out when we wanted to which is why were happy with the Gran Villaitanas Location.
I guess I'm trying to look for the best quality I can but am prepared to pay for it. I've also looked at The Deloix Aqua Centre but found out after much searching that their air conditioning isnt good (I like sleeping in a fridge LOL) nor is their food rated highly (my hubby is a vegetarian)
Dont know what to do
Thanks

Had a lovely stay at the Gran Villaitana early in May.
I was worried after reading some of the negative reports on other websites but found no cause for concern.
I found the hotel staff friendly and helpful, if you were polite to them.
Our allocated room was just as in the photographs on the Gran Villaitana website.
I think it is worth the money especially if you book the half board option.
We have booked another week from 27th June.....I guess that's a good sign.
If you want a nicer option it might be worth considering the Asia Gardens. It's quite close to the Gran Villataina, but a bit more expensive.
All the best

Hi there and thankyou for your reply
I think we've pretty much decided to go ahead with The Gran Villaitana. I've looked at The Asia Gardens but I think for the price they're asking (just under £600 for 4 nts BB) its far too expensive. I have a rate for Gran Villaitana HB at £374 for the two of us which is brilliant IMO.
I was tempted by the Melia, but the difference in the rates is only £50 so The Gran V is so much better value!
Can I ask if you taxied in and out of Benidorm at all and if so how much were you paying? I know its out of the resort near Terramitica and thats fine as we have a car but for the evenings, if we wanted to go into town, is there a courtesy bus or is it a taxi ride?
I really appreciate your help
Many thanks

Hello again.
For reference we paid £385 for 4 nights HB in early May and £677 for 7 nights HB next week so your rate is very good, who did you book with?
We did taxi in and out of Benidorm once and paid about €10 each way plus tip.
Not aware of a courtesy bus, I would certainly recommend driving.......SatNav would prove to be useful if you have one.

Hiya Lastcheck.co.uk were the cheapest.
Slightly dissapointed theres no courtesy bus which would have been helpful. We have SatNav and car hire so sure it'll be fine
Probs see you there

We would be grateful if anyone who has stayed at one of these complexes could take time to submit a review on either our Villaitana Resort or our Sol Melia Benidorm page.
Many thanks.
