I arrived back yesterday and the only horrible thing was coming home.
I stayed at the Iberostar Averroes in Yasmine Hammamet, for one week.
I have nothing bad to say about my holiday. I went on the sahara 2 day trip and had the most tiring but amazing time.
I arrived at Monastir and was through security and had my luggage in under 45min. When I arrived at the hotel (which was big and beautiful)I booked in while drinking a coffee which was brought to me.
The room was a great size and had a TV, hairdryer and air con.
The Pool is big and very clean, it has a jacuzzi and lazy river which is a right laugh. Also a swim up bar. Lots of sun beds and umbrella's. But as always you have to do the towel run in the mornings.
Food.... GREAT.... and lots of it.
Loads of choice and very fresh. What I liked was the fact that staff had their meals from the same stuff we ate. They cooked the pasta and some meats in front of you and breakfast stuff was also cooked in front of you, as well as a buffet style selection of hot and cold.
Beach...Very close.... i could walk from the pool to the sea in 3min, or could watch the sea from my sunbed around the pool. Lots of sunbeds on the beach and a section that gives hotel guest free beds.
The sahara trip is the most amazing trip ever. I got picked up from hotel at 6.20am and back to hotel on the next day at 7pm. Two very early starts and a lot of travelling, about 800 miles. and saw so much.
The best was the wild camels, just wondering round and all the wonderful local people I met. The experience was very different to anything else I have done. You need a open mind and a strong stomach for some of it. The camels are not smelly or yuky. They are very big and have beautiful natures, much more than horses.
I have more to tell but a bit tired still, if I can answer any questions please fill free to ask.
this was the first time I have travelled alone outside of europe and this is also a place where I got the best treatment.
I would not worry about travelling here again, with or without others.
Many thanks for that mum+bigson. So very pleased that you share our enthusiasm for fascinating Tunisia and appreciate the Arab people and their warm hospitality. I can see that you have joined us 100%. Welcome to the club! Jenny
Isn't it nice to have someone else in the Tunisia fan club.
