Have read 1st May is Greek Easter holiday and as such many Greek owned businesses (taverna, bars etc.,) will not be open as usual, there has been no mention of this by our tour operators this end - We were expecting the resort to be on the quiet side (first week of May) but don't really relish the thought of arriving in a resort that is half closed for the first couple of days!!
Does anybody know if warnings are over the top???
Most big supermarkets will be closed, but tourist shops and bars and tavernas are mostly open. Well, this is the case in Rhodes anyway. Hope that helps. Anne
it was a local who had posted the original message - Oh well if we can't get a cup of tea will have to make do with an ouzzo!! might be quite a lively holiday after all!!
We last went to Rhodes at easter time, everywhere was open as in all the bars and restaurants, so don't worry, go away and enjoy!!!
