Just popping in to give you all a quick update from a very sunny and hot Sharm el Sheikh, actually I have had to retreat in to the shade for a wee while, eleven o'clock and the temperature is nudging 30 now.
Been here a week and the lowest temperature has been 26 degrees with most days up in the very high 20's or in to the low 30's, definitely the warmest temperatures that we have had in all our visits in January and today is even hotter

In fact my iPhone has just done a strange thing, it has cut off and a warning with a thermometer on it has come up saying it needs to cool down before I can use it, poor thing.
Our hotel, The Tropicana Jasmine (again) is running with about a 40% occupancy rate and Sharm in General is I think slightly busier than last year although still relatively quiet.
It is particularly noticeable at night when you are walking along the promenade and there are restaurants with not even one single person in them and the chefs and waiters sitting doing nothing.
Prices are still very reasonable and the 'hassle' factor isn't just so bad and is generally good natured banter.
The Russian factor is still very obvious however all the ones at the hotel and the others we have met have been very pleasant and I couldn't make one complaint about them, indeed they have even been mannerly

We haven't done a great deal to be honest, we are going to St Catherine's Monastery and Dahab on Thursday. There is a small pool at the hotel and it has been like our own private pool, not one single person has come round to use it so we have had it exclusively to ourselves, oh the hardship.
So for those coming out soon -
Bring plenty high factor suncream.
Possibly a light cardigan / jumper for night time although it is still very pleasant.
Oh, the mozzies have been very bad so bring spray and repellant and also a plug in for your room, on our first night I received 50 bites on my legs, not very attractive

Boots and other places sell small zapper things that you use on bites, they take they itch out and help them heal quicker.
