it's been a while, thought i'd drop a note to say hello - we've still been checking the forum to see what's what.
we thought we'd be buying this year, but it looks like that's not really going to be a sensible thing to do for another 18-24 months, i've been back at work just over a year now and miss c for about 9 months - and we're thinking of doing it all again ... !
any views on last season and a feeling for how the place has moved on from 06/07 - good or bad..

apart from all the well publicised news last season, rampant inflation in india - last time i checked it was 12%, all views appreciated; good or bad.
thanks

So, after initially saying Goa is no longer for me, the old memories come flooding back and I am drawn yet again. I have found a little guest house, Sinquerim end which to me still has the same charm as 'old'Candolim. I am really looking forward to my holiday, intend to spend the 3 weeks travelling further afield - I have been going to Goa for 15 years or more and never ventured into the south!!. This coming holiday will be what I make it.
I didnt notice any significant increase in prices, there are probably even more excellent restaurants where a meal costs a fraction of what you would pay in the UK. There have been a few moans about Newton's supermarket, but I found it useful, you could buy just about anything you needed - including soft pillows - ah bliss.
I am really looking forward to going back
Last year I just found it too noisy, polluted and too many things 'just like home'. I found the erosion at Sinquerim sad especially since it has encroached into two places I discovered when I first wen there in 2000... Palms & Sands and Marquis Hotel. Also too many sports bars and karaoke popping up and blatant overcharging (or an attempt). These are just my opinions, maybe people go there for the reasons I dislike. Spread your wings and do a little research.
Roxey... been going for 15 years and haven't been down South... go on give it a bash for a week, it will take a little time to adjust to the total lack of chaos. The air quality is better and if you like exploring (walking/cycling) it's great. Don't be expecting much to do, you will have to make your entertainment a lot of the time. Chill out!
