Hi. We are a group of 50 (post wedding party) reaching Goa on 29th December. I needed help as to which good places to go out for dinner and then party. Since its a wedding party the places need to be better than shacks. More like restaurants. Some which we have shortlisted are
Fiesta on Baga
Club Cabana
Please help. I will accordingly call them up and if required arrange to pre-book the place considering we are such a big group
Theres a place called After Eight also right..? Or is it After Seven?
Sewwt Chilli in Sinquerim
Hi Minita
After Seven was once called After Eight. They changed their name two years ago. I dont know if I can tell you the story here, so have pm'd you.
Cheers

ok thanks. Sounds good. I think then After Seven is a must.
As to the pubs / bars are there any places besides Club Cabana. Basically not just beach shack parties or rave parties.

Last year there was an enormous and very plush place called Lounge Fly in Baga. It's not my idea of Goa but it is very spectacular and could be a great place for a large party.
There's a large elevated bar area that you may be able to book for your exclusive use. Definitely worth a look.

Hmm.. Sounds good. I think I read about this somewhere.
Also, which places would you'll suggest for lunch. We are staying at Anjuna beach. Would the dinner places be good for lunch as well?

Some of the dinner places are open for lunch, most of the dinner places are open for dinner only, beginning at 6pm or so. But i know that Viva Goa is open for lunch, as is Cactus, and there are one or two near Anjuna that are open for lunch. New place - sister concern of After Seven, at Nerul is open for breakfast and lunch.
Plantain Leaf in Calangute is open at lunch and has a separate room that could accommodate a large number of people. It's vegetarian but don't let that put you off - the food is superb, and very inexpensive.
If there will be a party of 40-50 I think you could find that some places not normally open, may open just for you and do a great buffet or set menu.

It seems such a shame to come all the way to Goa and not use the local shacks and restaurants while you are here. Some of the bigger shacks could accommodate you all and the food on the beach is often better than some of the restaurants.
As for good restaurants - I95, Le Jardin and Au Reverie, are all big enough to fit 50 people but I'd suggest booking esp. at that time of year.
East Meets West in Baga is another one to try - they definately take party bookings and have live entertainment every night.
Have a great time, GFF xx

I totally agree as to eating at shacks. Just lazing around the beach and eating there is the best thing. During daytime we will most likely do that but in the night we will be obliged to go somwhere nice for dinner (since its a wedding party). The places suggest look nice. I'm going to call them and pre-book it.
i would avoid lounge fly the service is terrible, yes it looks spectacular but they couldnt serve 5 people with meals still hot ,never mind 50, we walked out in disgust and payed only for our drinks, walking was a eye opener too .rats running everywere and the people from the slums doing number 2s in the road way ,not a ideal place to pass to get to a upper class restaraunt
hi minita, have just got back from baga,we had a meal @ east meets west and it was fantastic, there was a wedding party there at the time and they were in full swing having a good time.it is a lovley setting in a tropical garden with a stage set in the middle with plenty of room for dancing.if you decide to have a meal book inadvance as it was very busy....have a good one.......Gavin
would recommend all spice in Arpora great food, good service. East Meets West definately recommend for large groups. I would also add that Boscos beach shack did a fantastic job of my sons birthday party you can find them at the bottom of CSM road, dont dismiss the shacks for a party booking the food is great and they are very accomodating.
