Canaries in April will be hot days but chilly nights, most of the Med will be warm days (but not necessarily hot). Never been to Egypt but I know it's popular all year round.

I agree. Any of the red sea resorts would be good for you, Sharm, Hurgarda, Marsa Alam, Taba Heights, Nuweiba, El Gouna should all come up with the temperatures you want. You probably need to have a read of the Egypt forum. :tup

going to north Africa is no different than say turkey or Bulgaria, don't expect a 4 star to be as good as say Spain/Greece/Cyprus as its the local travel boards who set the standards, if you eat in the resort hotels or recognised main restaurant's if you venture out,oh and stick to bottled water, then Montezuma should have no reason to call for revenge, if you chance your luck at street food then thats up to you, whatever you decide the membership here should give you the necessary advise on your chosen area.
and enjoy wherever you go

Egypt! :tup

Much as I love Lanzarote/Fuerteventura I wouldn't recommend either for 'guaranteed sunshine' any time of year due to the number of holidays I've had spoilt by the numerous cloudy days :(

A bit farther afield and you don't say if you want to only go shorthaul or not but Cuba in April would fit the bill - temperatures in the low 30s during the day and upper 20s in the evening. April is a great time to go as you get the heat as in the summer but far less humidity.

Also, it's not to everybody's taste but for just an extra hour of flying time, The Gambia would give you hotter days and warmer nights than the Canaries, and compared to longhaul, no jetlag either.

Just back from Sharm in Egypt last night and we had fabulous weather the whole week, average temp was 78 :tongue with highs of 89 on Thursday. This was my first trip to Egypt as I was a die hard Lanzarote fan at this time of year but I'd seriously look at Egypt again next year as we liked it so much and the weather was so much better.

I too was a little worried about "Pharoes revenge" but no such troubles within the hotel at all, we used alcohol gel after handling Egyptian notes and made sure we didn't get anything other than bagged ice and we were fine. The place could never be described as dirty....the hotel was by far the cleanest I've ever stayed at and as for Naama Bay it too was spotless.
