I would recommend if you are thinking of one week on land and one on a gulet that you do the gulet second week. For one thing you will have got a base tan by then (though there is always shade on the gulet) and it is ideal to have a chill out week before you go home - going from a gulet to a resort is a bit of a culture shock and it often takes people a few days to get back into the swing of being back on land.
So far as swimming goes, those 'woggle' float things are marvellous for those who are non swimmers or those are a little nervous of the sea. Chances are there will be some on the boat already but you can pick a couple up for a few quid before you depart from any resort.
we have been on four gullet cruises, and everything that has been said is so true .fabulous food fabulous scenery, great company and a total chill out.it is just perfect for recharging your batteries, the only thing you have to decide is what swimmies to wear.the best one we were on was from bodrum and took in a couple of greek islands.bliss.
I don't think you would be bored. When you get on a cabin charter, you have 14 instant new friends to get to know plus the crew. Is it that you just can't swim or are you scared of the water. We've had non-swimmers on board and put on a life jacket with a length of rope tied to them and the boat so they feel safe. Another thing is that virtually every time you moor up, the crew will take you ashore to wander on land. There are some really fantastic ruins that you can visit, some bars ashore and some fantastic sunsets to be seen from some of the places you stop at. The water is really clear and very inviting. There are also canoes on board (simple sit on type, not the professional kit) which are fun to use and very stable and again you could use a life jacket if you wished. One guy on board many years ago was on board for one week then going to a hotel for the second week. He did not want to leave at the end of the week despite the fact he has not been in the water the whole time.
