A very Happy New Year from Malta to all on the Malta & Gozo forum.

Taken first day of 2006 - bright & sunny.... but a cold breeze.
Mellieha parish church on left, Mellieha Bay and you can just about see Comino in the distance.

Grazzi hafna ingliza, same to you, but I am now green with envy of the lovely view you must have every day oh well only about 6 weeks until we return, can't wait.

We too were over there for the New Year and your photo looks to have been taken very near to where we were staying. Here is one that I took:-

I took my picture from the roof of the Solana, that is the hotel half way down the Mellieha main street.
At the bottom of your photo there is the Pergola Hotel - we stayed there for a weekend in November, our balcony was the second from the left, this is a picture I took from there.

This part of Mellieha is my favorite part of Malta, I would love to live up there. We had a look at the Bayview flats next door to the Pergola a couple of years back when they had just been built, they are lovely. When I win the Super 5 I will have to see if one of them is for sale!

They don't show their rates on the site, but we paid Lm10 per person per night half board, B&B is Lm6 a night. This is the price up until the end of February 06, quite good value I thought. I have kept a price list so if anyone wants the price for other dates or their self catering apartments - ask. This was our room and bathroom.
