Come on lin b ..GFF..and Gooner fan ..spill the beans you must know something
we went to Arvalem waterfalls last Easter. It was nice - not a lot there though - we had a walk around for half hour - no other people there apart from one man having his wash!
Our taxi driver even questioned why we were going? Glad we went -but nothing really to tell you about it - sorry.
Jo
Last year the taxi driver took us to Lake Mayem. Not much there, there is a sort of park we paid to go in (only a few rupees). There were flower beds toilet facilities etc and on the lake were rowing boats/pedalos. On the road outside the park were a couple of sellers selling drinks. Nice view and peaceful, but we only stopped for about 30 mins
I havent been there but the father in law did, said it was a good day, but the trek to the falls is a bit of a nightmare and decent shoes will be needed.
Have a drive up to Dona Paula it's much nicer. Lovely scenery around that area, boats for hire a few market stalls (selling mostly clothes) and a couple of little restaurants. You might want to avoid Sundays because it's really packed. You can pop into the Cidade de Goa on the way for a drink in the hotel bar overlooking the sea. On the way back pop into Cafe coffee day on the Miramar Road, take a walk around the park or have a look around the outdoor art centre place.
