You wont have any problem in Playa Den Bossa, cafes and places to eat almost everywhere.

Cant comment on Es Cana as we havnt been there.

Ditto for Es Cana

Plenty of places
Plenty of choice from traditional English to traditional Spanish (though probably more of the former  )

B&B is a good idea as you may find the hotel food repetative and not to your liking. At least you will be able to choose and vary what you eat in restaurants.€8 is certainly more than enough for lunch and of course you would expect to pay a little more for a god evening meal. Both PDB and Es Cana will have suitable choices as already said, best wishes,John.

i would definatley recommend es cana,we went last year and the year before, with a 14 year old and other ages of kids.we went self catering to the escane appartments (booked with first choice)i could highly recommend them, below these appartments is the marvent restaurant very reasonable, good choice,a lot of english choices with some traditional.the best breakfast in escana(english bacon and sausage)for those that want it.lots of nice restaurants, its one of my favorite places.its also reasonably small but safe.ive not been to pdb, we are going next year for a change.sometimes its cheaper going half board than self catering, but if we do this we always eat out as well, because it can get tedious(and my husband isnt ken on buffetts).the escana appartments accross the road literally on the beach look ok also, they are very reasonable with eclipse direct. mo :)

Es Cana maybe your best bet if you have a 14 year old with you. However it depends on how mature your 14 year old is and what you and they want out of the holiday.

Es Cana is a very British resort, full of very British food such as burger and chips places, the bars are mostly either British owned or they cater exclusively for British tourists. The entertainment is catered for Brits as well with excellent cabaret acts and shows, quizzes and so on. It is exactly what young families want generally. However there is very little character in Es Cana.

Playa Den Bossa is a little different, although as mentioned it is very close to the airport and therefore you can experience engine noise from planes, there is a little more Catalan inspired life here, which exists alongside some good British entertainment and bars. Ibiza Town is easily accessible with its excellent night life, including the late night markets in the old town.

Which ever you choose I hope you have an excellent holiday.

Ialways stay b/b in Es Cana giving me the chance to try different restaurants to eat at , also a couple of times during the holiday I like to catch the local bus down the coast to St .Eulalia with its abundance of wonderful restaurants, and treat myself to a taxi back.

Hi John, yes I am very welll thank you and fully settled into married life, which I think is very similar to that last 5 years of my unmarried life but with new dining room chairs! :D Hope you and family are well too.

What John says about PDB is very true and it is popular with the clubbing crowd and also it is near to Figuretes which is a popular gay holiday location as well, although there are definetly a lot of family hotels in the area as well, and also the big water park is located in Playa Den Bossa.

However saying all this Es Cana is probably the best destination, espically with a 14 year old in tow who will probably be in his/her element. Also as "paddy jennings" suggests a good day out to see the culture of island and sample something other than burgers, pizza, chicken nuggets and kebabs is Santa Eulalia which has a whole street of excellent resturants (closed to traffic in the evening), it also is home to many good local shops, a cosmoplotian marina area and a very nice beach as well (Es Cana also has an excellent beach).
