Quite agree with you about all inclusive - too many restaurants to pay for meals in advance and stay there because "you have paid for them". I was more or less saying to the new Goa visitor that the Santiago is fine and you don't have to eat there all the time.
I don't understand why people book fully inclusive on a second visit unless, like our friends, you particularly like the hotel - we used to go up and drink the stuff in their fridge because they did not want it - didn't want it to go to waste.
Many years ago when the shacks were shut down at Xmas everybody stayed at their hotel pool side and the owner of one all inclusive hotel could not wait for them to open again as he said his guests were eating and drinking him out of house and hotel. Although they had already paid for it he was not used to them being there during the day eating "his" food and drinking "his" beer.
