Hi, just to check are you talking about Three Corners St. George as this is quite isolated. Not much around the hotel. As lovely as the hotel is, there is nothing to walk to. You HAVE to get a taxi/bus to Naama Bay or the beach (they have their own bus to take you there an back).
Yes Dawn it is the St George I was looking at.It looks near to other hotels on the map of Sharm.I have been offered it for £497 for 2 weeks next month from Manchester.
georges is a nice hotel, went there about a month ago.
Excellent price. But just note there is nothing is really walking distance, it is about £5 each way when using a taxi. Mind you they have their own mini bus to and from the beach - Sandy Beach and you can use the Kiroseiz Hotel's beach, best for snorkelling and diving. The mini bus also takes you to Naama Bay in the evening and will also pick you up (not sure how late though). We went to St George the first year it opened, spotless hotel, food not bad, entertainment wasn't brilliant but as I said it was their first year, so I'm sure things have improved. Any more I can help you with, please ask.
Thanks Dawn,We were at the Conrad 2 years ago and loved it but I wanted to be nearer Naama bay.The "problem" I have is 2 friends want to come with us and as they have already had 3 holidays this year the last one being in September on a 2 week cruise so they have a budget of under £500.This is travelling with Direct travel but on a Thomas Cook flight. They even give 20kg of luggage which is good because TC only give 15kg on their holidays. We have only managed 1 week away this year due to my husband being ill. Also as no flights are available from Newcastle on the date we want to go it will have to be Manchester. We can go from Gatwick as my daughter lives near there and we will be staying down for Christmas, but since our friends asked to come with us its giving us less choice regarding budget, hotels and departure airport. They have never been to Sharm and are not keen on the beach but I spent every day on the beach at the Conrad.I will see them tomorrow and ask them to come and look at the photos of the St George on here.Which beach is the best one to access the water without a jetty? Is there an outdoor bar/ area to sit on an evening as Ihave read somewhere the bar is very smoky?I honestly would prefer to go to Side in Turkey but my husband wants guaranteed sunshine!
Jay Trip, Funnily enough I'm from Newcastle (family still there) and I now live down south with my southern hubby (Essex). St. George Beach is the one without the jetty so you can walk into the water, but if you want to snorkel there, just walk round the beach to your right when approaching, great fish to see. You are perfectly correct the hotel lobby/sitting area is very smoky, but there are 2 pool/outside bars which are open until midnight. It may have changed but there wasn't anything going on inside the lobby bar anyway, bit background music. But you often get shows outside anyway, very pleasant. Two pool bars surrounded by hotel rooms, one side is very quiet the other near the main restaurant is more lively, where we were and were never bothered about any noise at all. Our room was ground floor (sorry can't remember number), but just outside was the towel man (very handy). Any more I can assist please ask.
