Why not Faliraki ? Do wish people would stop thinking of it as a 18-30 resort only & clubbing. My wife & I have been going to Faliraki on & off for 15 years, & we are now in our sixties. Next year we are leaving the UK , to go live in Faliraki.

True Faliraki isn't all about clubs and there are some very smart hotels on the Kalithea side but if your boyfriend's already been then try somewhere new.

I'm a big Lindos fan and one of the many that keep returning year after year. It's stunningly beautiful, friendly, lots of rooftop restaurants to take in the views, plenty of bars from the lively to chilled out, a couple of clubs and fantastic beaches. If you want a pool you have to stay just above the village as they're not allowed to build them in the village itself but even up there (on Krana hill) you're only a 10 minute walk away.

If you're not so bothered about beach life then i'd think about Rhodes Town (beaches here are pebbly and quite windy). Being the capital, it's as lively as you want it to be and there's plenty of shopping and sightseeing too, exploring the Old Town can take up a whole day.

Thanks, was only not thinking of Faliraki because my other half has been there and we'd mainly like to experience something new together.

Am defo giving Lindos some thought, have been looking up Pefkos too but from what i've heard it's tacky! Dont know if anyone could shead some light on that?

I wouldn't say Pefkos is tacky, it has some lovely restaurants and bars. I think the difference is it's a purpose built holiday resort so it doesn't really have any character or history.

can certainly say pefkos is not tacky certainly in comparison to protaras which has little cypriot in it, but it will probably be too quiet lindos has a lot more life.

I love Pefkos and it has a great selection of shops, bars, restaurants and two beaches. Greatly recommend Evi studios and apartments. Also a taxi and bus point opposite, which is great for exploring the rest fo the island. If you want any information or pictures just ask me :)

We're going back there on 2nd August for two weeks, can't wait!

We like to stay at the Ibiscus Hotel, which is just opposite Elli Beach (the not windy one!). Rhodes Town is just about the perfect place in my opinion. You can just chill, wander around the Old Town, or do whatever, there's lots of good shopping, cafes, bars etc. You can also get buses to just about anywhere else on the Island, Lindos, for example is about 4e each way. You can also get boat trips from the harbour to Symi or Marmaris in Turkey. The Old Town is really something special, we always have a good look round then head for the Socratous Gardens cafe/bar. Really nice and cool, well shaded. You can spend two weeks in Rhodes Town, visit the Old Town every day, and still find something new.
