Hi there,
A friend of mine has asked me to look for a nice family all inclusive hotel in Gran Canaria for her. She has 3 children and doesnt fancy being in seperate rooms as has been offfered to her by some high street travel agents she has visitied and who have also told her they coundn't guarentee rooms next to one another either. As her children are only 4, 8 and 10 years old this is not acceptable to her and I can fully understand her not wanting her children in another part of the hotel to her and her husband cos I wouldnt have wanted that when my own kids were little. Anway, she has asked me to look around on the net for her to see what I can come up with.
Her children are not the types to join in all the kids clubs but they do like swimming and like all the shows and entertainment usually on offer at such hotels and obviously they want a hotel with decent quality food, snacks and drinks etc available in the all inclusive package. We stayed all inclusive once and vowed never again as the food was absolutely terrible and the hotel was stuck in the middle of nowhere and we ended up forking out for meals in local restaurants as it was so bad. Tjhe drinks too left a lot to be desired and I personally did not find the hotel we stayed was good value for money at all. However, that said you hear people saying that the All Inclusives they stayed in were fantastic and of course that is what my friend is looking for and has a budget of £2000 for a 1 week holiday.
So basically anyone who can reccomend a decent quality hotel for a family of 5 that is all inclusive and has plenty going on that would be wonderful and I would appreciate your comments and suggestions.
By the way my friend would also consider Majorca or Tenerife too so I will also put this post in those 2 sections too - so please dont think I have gone stark raving mad if you see a similar post from me under those 2 threads also.
Thanks.

Hi Sonesta ... just in case you are not aware, we do actually have an David
HERE in Playa del Ingles last Easter. Most brochures sell it as half-board (or self-catering in the annexe) but you can upgrade to all-inclusive on arrival. It's a lovely hotel, good variety of food with a big buffet at all mealtimes, catering for all tastes. Good variety of all-inclusive drinks and a selection of very nice snacks from the pool bar in between restaurant times.
We had a spacious room at the hotel for 3 of us - I think they may do family rooms there too, or they may be able to accomodate a larger family in one of the apartments.
Wasn't so keen on Playa del Ingles itself, a bit characterless and "European" but the hotel was one of the nicest we've been to.

has your friend considered the costa del sol as first choice have a holiday village there where you can book rooms that hold upto 5 and you have the option of self catering or all inclusive
Fuerteventura is a lovely island, quite near Gran Canaria and has pretty much the same weather. There are excursions to the waterpark and also an animal park with camel rides. The beach near where we stayed is nice and safe for kids.
Hope this is helpful.
Look no further than Taurito Princess in Gran Canaria. It has everything you are looking for and family suite rooms are available, however i feel they may be a little bit pricey. You get what you pay for though and this really is a top quality hotel and worth every penny spent. The family suite rooms are at either end of each floor and have a main living room area with separate bedroom space..
