please think long and hard before you decide to purchase any propery in tunisia. it is not easy, it is very difficult to find some one you can trust to help you.. it is alright for a holiday, and ok to go there semi perminently, but do not invest your money out there. rent somewhere by all means until you really get to know the people, their mentality and their culture. you will have extreme difficulty selling a property at a later date. if you want some advice about renting i am more than willing to help.

I'm living in Tunisia myself. Houses do sell here, but not as much as in the UK. The weather is nice and the winter is very short. Food is very cheap, although you sometimes have to get used to not having as much choice as shopping in somewhere like Tesco. Two of my six children are going to local Tunisian schools and one is homestudying and able to sit an international GCSE if she wishes. The people are friendly and being an English person turns you into some kind of celebrity in the little village that I live in. You feel like Madonna sometimes!
