I can`t comment on the Palmasol. I have stayed at the Bali and I couldn`t fault it, food was fantastic. Rooms were clean, nice nothing fancy.Would def return to the Bali. Mother inlaw has stayed at the Sirroco and wasn`t overkeen, whilst there they spoke to lots of people who said the Bali was better. As for location both the Bali and Sirroco are close together. Both a ten minuite walk to the beach. The hill is not that bad, a steep slope but only short. Plenty of watering holes on the way up.

I`m sure which ever you pick will be great.

Hi Hemi, don't know about the two hotels you mentioned but we returned from Benelmadena last month. Stayed at the Las Arenas, excellent hotel, lovely and clean, nice food, and we usually don't go hotels, like to eat somewhere different each evening. The hotel is about 15 mins walk along the beach front to the Marina, and it is just over the road from the beach, on the flat, no hills to climb, unless you walk up to the park which is nice and up to the station at Arroyo, which we did to go to Malaga and Fuengerola.

wouldnt go to the Palmasol as though its location is excellent, it suffers from its position aswell. ALOT of pedestrian traffic up and down the road from the harbour to the square at night normally 3 nights a week which isnt much fun at 3 or 4 am! (the bathrooms are really pokey too) I know alot of people really like the Bali and though its location isnt on the beach it isnt much of a stroll.

hi thanks for your comments the bali is coming up well then just hope the walk up the hill doesnt kill us lol :tongue

The direct route (Avda Telfonica) is steep but it's the shortest way down to the beach. There are other routes that are more leisurely. The best bit about the Bali is that it is on the same level as Bonanza Sq so you don't have a hike at the end of the evening !

There is a Asian run shop half way up Ave Telephonica that sell most things. another small Spanish shop further up the hill on the way to Bonanza Sq.And just opposite this is a cake and bread shop.
The beach is made of course sand

There's a MAS supermarket below the church nr Bonanza Sq and a Super Sol at Jupiter Apts. Neither have an on-site bakery but both get fresh deliveries every morning.

Have just returned from Benal (yesterday); stayed at Palia La Roca - very good hotel. Our friends who were with us have stayed at Palmasol and like it very much. It has just had a complete overall (new balconies; paint job etc.) but they are building new apartments in the road it is in. The builders are also buying out the businesses opposite it and there are now only two (english) owned bars left so this might put you off.

Stayed at the Bali 14 years ago and have got to say found the hill hard going even then!!!

Hemi - where abouts in Lanzarote or have you posted under that topic.

dont bother with H10 Palmasol anyone, its at the top of a very steep hill, you get all the noise from the marina(4/5am in the morning)there is apartments being built at the side of the hotel and then when thats done they are starting to build across the road and to be honest some of the staff are not very helpful
