This website is great and has helped me in the past with other hoildays as its great to get other people points of view
I've decided to book next years holiday (June) and I am huge Greek Island fan and after watching a few travel programms i have decided that Corfu may be the next Greek Island to visit.
I know very little about the island and resorts and having surfed the net for ideas I have come here to find out more information on the resorts in Corfu.
Myself and my partner are late 20's and early 30's and this will be our first holiday together
I've been abroad quite a few times but this will be Daves 1st Beach holiday in 10 years!
We are both looking for a nice relaxing holiday nothing to quiet but nothing to loud and too drunken either Were both more than happy to lounge about by the pool or on a nice beach during the days and do some site seeing and in the evenings were not really interested in clubbing but would appriciate a location with nice taverna's and some good bar's.
I've been to Maila (Crete) in May and found it was ok as it was quiet but I was glad of the hire car to get out of the resort in the day time but all in all I found Crete a fantastic place the likes of Ag Nikolas looked wonderful when I visited it. And last year I went to Pefkos in Rhodes and i loved Pefkos and neighbouring Lindos but wasnt all that taken with Rhodes in general.
So as there are many resorts in Corfu I would love to have peoples experiences and suggestions for our holiday/hotels/places to visit etc and all comments will be greatly appriciated
Many

we are fans of kassiopi in the north east of corfu, transfer from the airport are a bit long and slow but apart from that this place is good,it is set round a fab harbour and is full of good tavernas, there are also some music type bars if thats what you like and there are also many quiter bars that are around the harbour with great views of the bay and towards albania, the beaches are pebbled ones but if thats not a problem then i would have a look in the brochures and see what you think
Try taking a look at the members
You do right to do as much research as you can. Corfu is an extrememy beautiful island with some very different resorts.
Sidari we would not return to. To noisy and catering to British tastes. Aghios Gordis is a lovely little resort but I think too quiet for you young ones and you have to get a bus into Corfu to do any sightseeing. I have visited Kassioppi and think you might like it as Craig says. Paleocastritsa has some sandy beaches but is a bit spread out. Acharavi is spread out like a big truckstop.
A good website for Corfu is at http://www.agni.gr . Try it.
Happy holidays,
Cheers, Jean
We went to Sidari a fews years ago and it was just beginning to become what it seems to be today (a sort of blackpool with sun and good food)... it was loud in places and quiet in others.... but wasn't as mentioned worth a return visit even though we had a good holiday.....
Wizard I looked through all the resort reveiws - Very helpful
I did kinda like the sound of Sidari as it seemed like a tamer Kavas and being Daves first trip abroad for a proper beach holiday I think a little bit of Brit in a resort wouldn't be too bad for him and I can usually put up with it as long as the resort is nice clean and friendly.
Mind you Kassiopi sounds fantanstic
If anyone has any pictures of these resorts which they would kindly email me then I would be greatful. Please PM me for my email address
There are a variety of boat trips from the harbour and we found that the trip to Corfu town was well worth it. We went one evening for a change of scene.
Wherever you choose in Corfu I'm sure you'l have a great time. It's a beautiful island. Good luck with your search. Let us know what you decide on.
There are photos of some of the resorts in the photo albums on this site, including a few of mine of Kassiopi.
Can anyone recommend hotels and tour operators for Kassiopi as the brochures which I have picked up from my local travel agents do not have any hotels listed for this resort
we flew with Thomson. My review of the Dimas apartments is in the hotel review section of this website. Were you wanting to go SC or to a hotel?
have a lok at Roda. We stayes there last year, and are going back in september. ot as 'loud' as Sidari, but still enough entertainment and 'englishness' to suit Dave

from memory there are not many hotels in kassiopi the only one i can think of is kassimi which is overlooking the harbour but this is only bed and breakfast, this is in thomson. We always go to the Dimas studios which are normally also in tomson but alas i have looked and they are not in,in the past they have been in skytours, tomson and tomson greece,if you do decide to go self catering there are some good restaraunt/tavernas with good food ,Just be aware in the brochure of michaelangelo though they are nice they are a bit further out of town than the brochures suggest
Kassiopi sounds wonderful and i have looked at the holiday brouchures but unfortunatley I cant seem to find a hotel I like there which is in our price range
Me and Dave keep going back to the sidari section and we love the look of the Lagoon Studios and Apartments and the price of the hoilday is certainly in our price range.
My only problem here is Sidari has a lot of mix reviews some like it and others seem to think its a bit tacky.
So some more info on Sidari would be appriciated
Thanks again
have a look at Roda - we stayed there last year, and are going back again sept. A little bit quieter than Sidari, but still plenty of bars/restaurants.

Hi Claire777, we went to Sidari last year, we are in our 50's but we like a bit of life and nothing to quiet. Sidari was perfect for us and I would defineately go there again. You will enjoy it.
Why not consider the lovely NW of Corfu for a relaxing holiday. Have a look at my web-site called "About Agios Georgios"
The resort is ideal for "de-stressing" either on the super beach or walking in the unspoilt countryside.
If that beautiful resort is too quiet for you the nearby Arillas or Agios Stefanos NW might suit you better.
Dennis
Well today I have booked our holiday in Corfu we finally settled on Sidari and the Lagoon Studios and Apartments. We fly from Bristol on the 2nd June next year - Which seems so far away but I just cant wait.
Now continuing the thread where are the must see and go to places in Corfu
