Hi Jimbouk, possibly Albufeira would suit you as you have the new town (The Strip) which is mainly for the younger end and also the Old town which is more family orientated. If you want to be inbetween the two (for the best of both worlds) with accommodation I suggest the Hotel Boa Vista, Hotel Cerro Alagoa, Hotel Paraiso De Albufeira, not sure on apartments though, although the Vila Petra Aparthotel is nice but situated in the new town, maybe some other HT member could suggest others. Hi Jim,

There are two hotels right down by the beach in the Old Town which you could have a look at - the Sol e Mar and the Rocamar. One which is up above the Old Town and on the way to the Strip is the Brisa Sol. It always gets good reviews from HT members.

Jayjan mentioned the Boa Vista, which is not actually between the Old and new towns. It's on the west headland, between the Old Town and the Marina. Another hotel up there is the Estalagem do Cerro.

Lots of research to do then! :hmmm

I'd probably go for the Old town if the 15yr olds will want to wander off on their own of an evening. It's more compact so I think you'd feel more comfortable.

Are you definitely after a hotel if the friend comes as well as that would mean 2 rooms?
