After reading countless reviews we've opted for the sunscape casa del mar, very family friendly from what i gather from the reviews. Also with no teenagers to plan for competely different holiday required.

thanks

My family had a brilliant holiday 3 years ago staying at the CDM..You wont be disappointed and that was in the so called Hurricane season.

Picture postcard white sands and a calm blue sea.

Both the Food and the Hotel were superb.

Enjoy.

Hi barnsie.

The CDM was our first holiday in the carribean and it was fabulous!

After that we went to the Sunscape the Beach and then this year Riu Ochos, and to be honest, as good as the Riu was we have been well and truly spoilt by the Sunscapes!! :D

You will love it, I am very jealous!

Sunaholic.

Was very interested in your post as I have also gone ga ga with the amount of research I have done in chosing a resort for July 2008. The CDM has cropped up more than a few times and the general reviews are very favourable so it has to the CDM for me. Our kids are 5 & 11 and living in Jersey they are both beach bums so give them a pool or the clear waters of the Carribean I know what they will chose.

We think that the beach at the Casa del Mar is probably the nicest we have been to. Our kids loved it and the hotel.

hi

thank you so much for the replies. so pleased that you enjoyed the hotel, we are due there in august of 2008, we will be taking our 8 year old boy and can't wait, always read the fabulous reviews, though, just lately i have read a few bad ones on tripadvisor.

we went to the Gran Ventana in the north the last time we were in dom rep and enjoyed it, but prefer the white sands. We went to the riu's (Riu Yucatan) in Mexico last year, we had 2 older daughters with us that absolutely loved the riu tequila, though want different things this time.

The trampoline looks amazing and my boy can't wait for that alone.

any more info would be great. what is the entertainment like at night? is it the usual dancing? would love to find an all inclusive with good entertainment, food and sand and sea!

thanks again
