hi we have just booked our accomadation for christmas/new year 2010,if you dont mind guesthouse take a look at castle house calangute,booked with hostel bookers,we stayed for 1 wk at the colonia braganza last time only £58 for the 2 of us and it was in november,when we asked if we could stay an extra 12 nights they wanted £311 more lol ,we got castle house from 18dec/3jan for £112 for the 2 of us,alll the reviews about it that i have seen are quite good,good luck

Try the one I stay at (Alvares) I have no idea what she charges for Christmas/New Year as never been at this time but I wouldn't expect it to be exhorbitant. I have done 3 reviews on HT. It isn't in Candolim but is in the area behind where Newtons Supermarket is (down from St. Anthony's chapel) and is a short walk to the beach - the guest house also has it's own pool.

If you Google Alvares you will find a site showing pictures of it too. Hope this is helpful.
