Hesperia Hotel price challenge

The Spanish Hesperia Hotel group have just installed a new challenge on their website,to wit , `If any other internet site can beat our prices we will match them and offer you a VIP package for your stay`...fair enough me thinks as I intend to book their Fuerteventura property for later this summer I put them to the test.
I rang the UK 0870 number & was put through to their Barcelona call centre,lovely staff and quoted the deal.They wanted 599 euros for the stay & Atlaschoice was doing it for 424.Much sharp intake of breath,and oohing and aahing.I had obviously presented them with a megashock!!
They rang me back after 30 mins and said they were having to closely question Atlas to morrow,basically as to how they were doing it so cheap and will ring me back to morrow to see if they can carry out their price pledge.....oh dear

Havent yet told them that I know of 3 other sites that are also doing it for the lower price. keep watching their site I think this guarantee might swiftly vanish!!

Hats off to hesperia,they have met the price challenge and I have to say with style,good grace and very good customer service,which makes a change these days

This is obviously something new and the process was a bit convuluted in that it took a couple of days to check out the lowest price I had quoted,but they rang me back every day to tell me how things were going and always at a time convenient to me.Finally sorted things out,met the lowest price,have confirmed by e mail and offered me the VIP package they mention as well!!.
although a bit long winded it has the advantage of booking with the Hotel direct,so no worries about mislaid reservations when you turn up.Special requests have a better chance of being met.No cancellations charges,just give them a credit card number to secure the booking and the first time you pay anything is when you check out and all at a low price

The properties are all of a high standard and well worth bearing in mind. Nice to be able to report a good story...
