Yesterday I needed to call Direct Holidays regarding flights I had booked for November. I dialled the 0870 number given on the invoice and after 15 minutes of being told "that my call was important to them", I was still waiting and more importantly still paying for the call. I rembered a link a friend had told me about http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php and logged in to that to try to find a normal phone line for Direct Holidays. It supplied a number in Glasgow which I called on my mobile. It was answered on the second ring and my query dealt with in just a couple of minutes, meanwhile the 0870 number had still not been answered.

I was paying for the privilege of calling Direct Holidays on their 0870 number and they were making money from the call, while they make no money directly from customers calling the Glagow number. Could this explain the long delay? Next time you have to call an 0870 or similar number, check out this site, you may save some money but also a lot of time.
