I just wondered for a bit of light hearted fun, and to while away the Monsoon time, if people really missed anything from home while in Goa.
Mine were mainly:
A lovely hot deep bubbly bath, our hotel only had showers.
Decent bacon and sausages, glad i didnt try the Goan ones, and i didnt even know then what i do now!
Strong cheese, only had mozarella while there and i love my mature cheddar.
Fresh crispy salad, i dared not eat it out there.
Cold lager.
I cannot think of anything else i missed, apart obviously from my family, and there was lots i certainly didnt miss about the UK, and felt peed off about returning to. Anyone else?
I missed my lovely comfy bed , and of course my family.
Guinness..........and......
oh yes, nearly forgot.........Guinness.
OUCH!!!!.....Oops!! and of course my Missus (and a lovely girl she is too)
Missed children, grandchildren a couple of soaps(saddo) and er,erm, not much else.
OUCH!!!!.....Oops!! and of course my Missus (and a lovely girl she is too)
Loved that eddie101
Hmm, i missed my family and friends, my car (how sad) , chocolate (its just not the same as back home) , not much else really
I also missed Baked Beans, theirs are disgusting
I missed High Heels too, im taking some with me this year, I don't care if I break my ankle
But most of all I missed my Mum & Dad
If you go to Teama at the bottom of Candolim beach road for breakfast they have Heinz baked beans (or at least they did last time we were there).
Have to say, as much as I really love hot curries etc, I eventually end up missing a good old Sunday roast. I also miss my cat, my bed and my family, not necessarily in that order of course!!
I missed my kids, my own bed and pillow, a home cooked roast dinner and having straight hair (straighteners being ineffective cos of the humidity)! Apart from that - nothing!
Talking of simple food, i too really missed a good roast, and cheese and potato pie. I love spicy food and curries etc but was looking forward to a good ol Brit meal on flight home. They announced it was chicken.... curry! The whole plane groaned!
I missed my garden and British birds, and marmite, and Horlicks.
I don't think I miss anything while I'm in Goa but when I'm home I miss Goa
mature cheddar cheese and branston sandwich; granary toast and marmite and my dog.
Lyn x
I miss having clean feet! Mine always turn orange and stay that way no matter how long i stay in the shower scrubbing them!!!
I miss nothing. But of course if it wasn't for my well paid stressful job I wouldn't be able to go - so here's to next time and 6 months hard work!!
I miss, the rain, work, stress, the cost of petrol, the high taxes, cost of beer etc, etc, come to think of it, why do I always feel so relaxed in Goa
I always hope that whilst we are away in the month of December, the UK has a cold, snowy time am I being mean????
By the end of my holiday I could kill for a cheese sandwich! Oh a decent glass of white wine.
cheers Lyn
We are flying H/row to Mumbai then down to Kerela for a week, then back to Mumbai and on to Goa. Can I get decent white wine in Mumbai?
