When I was in Portugal (Carvoeiro) a couple of years ago I went horse riding a couple of times near Silves - I think they were called Silves Riding Centre or something like that and it was run by a British Guy called Steve and his wife. I know this is a bit of a random question, but does anyone know if they still run this riding centre, as we had a fab time with them! Also, does anyone knonw of any other good riding places in the area (will be staying in Carvoeiro again).
Also, are there any spots in the Algarve which are good for surfing, with places to hire boards, etc?

There is also a riding centre at Guia Albufeira its called Quinta do Saudade situated Vale Parra (Montes Juntos) Guia. Hope this helps

Saw plenty of surfers when we visited Armoreira beach last year but not sure whether there was board hire available.
I think any beach on the west coast would be good for surfing.

Thanks for your replies! We're going to be hiring a car, so we can have a few trips out to the West Coast and hopefully be able to do something about hiring boards etc.
