Hi all
Just back from our first break of 2007. Our "later" break is discussed here ...
http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=953006#953006
The reason for this post is a complete debacle caused by booking through Hoseasons. Boy are we glad we didn't book our French trip with that company.
We've been to the Mill Rythe holiday village on Hayling Island. For the first time Hoseasons were allowed to block book a number of chalets on the site then resell them via their own brochure.
We booked self catering accommodation that was described as capable of accommodating "4-6" people. We are 5 in number including an elderly relative aged over 80 with some walking difficulties. We didn't want to be far away from the site's main facilities.
On booking our break Hoseasons assured us that the accommodation would (a) enable us all to be together in the one place and (b) be close to central facilities.
Neither was true - far from it - and the owners of the site say that Hoseasons were advertising something the site simply could not provide.
To resolve the problem Mill Rythe were extremely helpful. The only accommodation they had for 5 people was in their fully catered chalets.
So they upgraded us to that fully catered, 6 bed, accommodation. all Meals included. No extra cost. They have lost a great deal of money on this but could not have been more helpful or apologetic.
I have no hesitation in recommending Mill Rythe to anyone else but do NOT book through Hoseasons. Do NOT trust what they say in their brochures. Book direct.
Well, that's my advice for what it's worth. We had never booked through Hoseasons before. Never again.

MM I've added this accommodation to our review site if you'd like to add your review:-
By the way this is what Hoseasons are advertising ...
http://www.hoseasons.co.uk/ProductClassList.aspx?SiteCode=RYTH&ClassCode=&HolidayTypeName=UKCottages
At the foot of the page you see self catering accommodation in Seaton Block. Note ..... IT DOES NOT SLEEP "4-6".
On arrival Mill Rythe told us that the only way we could get more than 4 "beds" in Seaton was to have two separate chalets. With the configuration of our party this would have been highly impractical. Hence the good efforts of the Mill Rythe staff to resolve it.
