Hi all,
Just booked this for the first week in March and have read somewhere after booking that this has a saltwater pool.
Could somebody confirm this whether this is true or not.
The missus will be gutted if it is
I've looked through the hotel reviews on here but can't find anything.
P.S. Slightly off topic but could somebody tell me exactly where the Pheasant Plucker is.
Thanks.
There are two pools..A larger pool and a smaller childs pool...The larger one as far as I can remember is not sea water..what i do remember when we stayed there in December was that they kept the temperature of the large pool far higher than the kids pool
Thanks hotel stayer and thanks mods for merging.
We have been going to the Bitacora for the last three years and are due back again in August 2007, just to confirm neither of the pools are salt water. You have made a good choice with this hotel, I am sure you will have a great holiday the staff are very helpful and the location of the hotel cannot be faulted.
Must agree the large pool at the Bitacora is wonderful and warm, like a tepid bath and definately not salt water. You will love it there - great hotel
Very much looking forward to this one.
This what I read:
"Now to the pool, ideal if you are over 6ft tall or a swimmer, if not avoid, saltwater and too deep for children under 8 years old except by the steps which as you can imagine gets busy, the kids pool is too shallow for the over 3's so we were in limbo so I spent most the week looking after kids in the pool".
I think the person reviewing this may have been on about another hotel nearby then and got mixed up with The Bitacora.
La Siesta maybe?

Hi does anyone know how much it is to upgrade to a superior room for a week when you get there. have been once before and have a spring card so don't know if that would make any difference to the price. thanks in advance
If i remember right when i was there in March it was 16 Euros per room per day to upgrade but i cant remember if that was with the spring card discount or not or if you get a spring card discount on room upgrades.
Angie
Thanks for that think we'll probably upgrade when we get there.
hi thinkng of booking here for july 08.is it still as good .are the rooms ok .is it ok for kids 13 and 9.its between here and the noelia sur .
If you want my honest opinion (although its 4 years since I stayed at the Noelia)..the Bitacora is a far superior hotel..The Noelia is ok don't get me wrong but the Bitacora is simply fab
hi thank you for your help thats great.
1) Is the sunbed situation around the pool really alful?. If we went to the pool at say 9.30 - 10.00 would we get a sunbed?. I think when you are on holiday you dont want to rush to get to the pool, (especially if you have had one or two to many beers the night before!!!) but seriously is it as bad as the reviews say?.
2) If you have a room over the entrance is there lots of traffic noise? and noise from the bins being emptied at 2.00am, as I have read in reviews.
3) DARE I SAY IT COCHROACHES!!!!! I will die if I see one. we stayed in the north last year and I didnt see one, (not that I was looking for them!!!!) are there some in the hotel?. in the rooms...... I will checking inside my bed every night!!!!!.
Please reply if possible, Regarding point 2, I dont know if to e-mail the hotel to upgrade our room??.
Many thanks,
We had a room on the first floor facing out over the front off the hotel down at the corner near the main road and noise of bins or anything else was never an issue, the room was above the bar and you did get noise from that until it closed not long after midnight , again not really an issue..
unfortunately my lad got great enjoyment out off standing on cockroaches down at the kiddies entertainment area just outside the dining room, that maybe sounds worst than it was, this was late at night when the entertainment has stopped and they dimmed the light slightly,at most i would say he got 6..Please do not let this put you off,i actually didn't see 1 the entire 14 days i was there..
any more info required just ask..
p.s we loved are stayed there..
Hi, Thanks for your reply if I think of anything else I will write again.
Hi we stayed in the Bitacora last week in April this year, we never got our sunbeds until 10ish no problem,we had a room on the second floor on the front (street side i mean) never heard a thing very quiet. I have been 4 times to this hotel and going back in September never seen a cockaroach ever. Enjoy your stay you will have a fab time
aircon. We went to the north this time last year and has a brill time, but it was hot, and obviously the north is cooler.
Anyway the 2 replies I have has made me feel better, we wont be e-mailing the hotel to upgrade as we are probably worrying about nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
once again thanks.
No air conditioning!!!!!!!
