Did the hotel they were transferred to have a lower, higher or same rating? The answer to the question does depend a lot on how you would proceed with your claim.

Assuming it is the same star rating, I would certainly try to claim back the breakfast element of the holiday cost.

If the Opodo booking confrimation said bed and breakfast then this looks like a simple case of breach of contract. However, if the contract just says room and the hotel description said "complementary breakfast" it might be harder - but still go for it. You could try demanding the cost of the breakfasts and all the taxis and see if they offer a compromise.

Thank you for your replies - it appears the hotels were the same rating but the one they were moved to was/is advertised at a cheaper rate and the breakfast was complimentary at the original hotel. Needless to say hubby did not say anything to me whilst they were away - think he had visions of me making numerous phone calls that would cost a fortune :duh Nels
