I dont know how much help this is to you but I did stay at the Guadaloupe 10 years ago and it was lovely, the food is excellant and prob one of the best half boards we have stayed at.
Having said all that I have heard its not so good now as a hotel but food still good there are some hotel reviews for the Guadaloupe if they are not on this site they are on another review site just type in reviews on the hotel you want and there are a few sites that will be able to help. Never heard of the Florida one.
Have you looked at The Sol Magaluf Park? There reviews are good (mostly)There was one not so good! But then you always get one!
We are staying at the Sol M/Park as part of a Cruise and stay in Aug this year.

im staying in the Guadaloupe at Easter so can let you know what its like - you can book the sol hotels by giving your card details and you just pay on arrival (you have up until 4pm on day of arrival to cancel) book direct on http://www.solmelia.com which is what i done

they have loads of good reviews - just type into google "sol Guadaloupe magaluf" and it brings up trip advisor page with loads of reviews - i went for this hotel because of the good reviews
