is that the same place ? As its called the "Papantonia" in the hotel itself ? (its also located almost next door to Tsokkos Gardens)

That's right it is located almost next door to the Tsokkos Gardens and they are both owned now by the Tsokkos group.

The website lists all the Protaras properties........The Tsokkos family seem to be buying up everything at a rate of knots in the east of the island.......not forgetting his brother is now the Mayor of Ayia Napa too :think

I see they've added the Cosmelenia in Ayia Napa over the winter, this was only built by the previous owner 2 years ago, Mr Tsokkos is one shrewd guy, unfortunately not very popular with locals as once a place is purchased all the local Cypriots tend to get laid off and they're replaced with other EU workers....cheaper wages ??

Oh the table patrol version of barmaids... ! yes they do seem to get a lot of them now... really bugs me... If I want a drink I will get off my backside and go to the bar thanks !

Some locals who i have known for years in Cyprus say know that Tsokkos have taken most of the hotels over, that the food is rubbish as they buy cheap products.

We stayed in The Anastasia at the end of October/Early November last year. Originally booked for the Tsokkos Gardens but as we expected, it closed that week, so we got moved. Only Constantinos and Anastasia stayed open.

The food was fine, by no means exceptional but I certainly didn't notice that the quality of the ingredients was poor.

The staff were predominantly Eastern European and if you took the All Inc option then you certainly didn't get waitress service !

We invited some friends over for lunch one day and paid for them to have the buffet with us - they got waitress service, table laid for them and proper glasses. We got drinks from the bar in plastic and had to get our own knives and forks :)

Manchester City, as for restaurants near by !

Within walking range (almost outside) is "The Blue Spice" (http://www.bluespicerestaurant.com/) a fraction more expensive than some places but very very good. From there you can take your pick, I've not been anywhere that's terrible ! It really depends on what you want ! There is a pizza hut that I've never been to, if that's your bag. Then there are great places like "The Polyxenia Isaak" (http://polyxenia.com/) right down on the beach, with dancing and music one night, worth staying for a Meze !. Places like "The Niata Bar" that do hot dog and onions (or did last year) very cheaply. "The Apomera Tavern" was a great family run place making authentic local specialities, or "Mojitos" (http://www.mojitobarcyprus.com/) which is pretty fancy looking but not been in myself. We decided to go somewhere non-Cypriot and went for Italian at "The Nautilus Bar" and just said bring us something special don't worry about us not liking it and we weren't disappointed ! Started with a walnut and parmesan salad and then onto a fantastic pasta dish with tomato and olives !

I could go on !... lol

You can't go wrong, have a great time !

If you go sc do you have any idea how much it is to upgrade to AI. adults and Children Children Ages 12 and 8. Thank you
Reply
Can't be sure but in most hotels its normally cheaper to book it as AI in the first place rather than pay once booked... unless you are only going to do it for a few days...

In the Tssokos Anastasia last October it cost us £11 CYP to upgrade from HB to All Inc (per adult per day).

The prices varied for the number of days you were taking it, existing board, and of course kids ages.
